Kalebs Playing B-Ball!

Kaleb's been wanting to play basketball since High School Musical first came out Up till now we couldn't sign him up cause practices were at 3pm and that's when he gets out of school.

Now that he's older we were able to sign him up. He's playing on a 7-8-9 age team and so far is having fun.

They had their first game this past Saturday and won 27-24. Pretty good considering the team didn't have any practices before the game.

Yesterday was his first practice and the coach worked them pretty hard. We'll see how Kaleb does in the season. I'll get pictures up after this weekends game.

ACDC !!!!

Last night we went to the ACDC Black Ice Tour Concert at the Sports Arena for Matt's early b-day present. It was Awesome.

Matt, and I have been waiting for them to come back to SD after seeing them 7 years ago at the Sports Arena. Which I'm surprised they haven't torn down yet.

We hung out in before the concert with two friends and then went to see one of the worlds best Rock Bands ever. It doesn't' matter if you like country, jazz, hip hop or any thing else cause everyone loves ACDC.

while we were inside i saw the cutest kid, and wish I had my camera with me. He was dressed exactly like Angus (lead guitar, for those that don't know) from head to toe, the dark purple velvet school boy outfit, old school vans, with knee highs and the hat. This little boy had all the women coming up to him.

As always the band doesn't disappoint. They play loud, have lots of energy, great stage performance, awesome pyrotechnics, lighting, blow up dolls, and is the one band that has a great show every time.

Other then realizing they are getting up their in age, you'd never know it when watching a concert they put on.

Summer Haircut

okay, so Kaleb wanted his hair cut to the normal summer buzz. I went out and bought new trimmers and Matt being Matt decided he was going to cut Kaleb's hair.

Only, while he was cutting his hair he threw the new trimmers on the floor and broke them!

So now Kaleb's hair is half way done and the trimmers are broken and Matt is trying hard to fix them. He thought he did good until he tried to cut Kaleb's hair again Can't you see Kaleb was happy when he wasn't cutting his hair and has a look of please stop when he starts back up. Kaleb told Matt to leave it alone and Mom will fix. Matt wasn't the happiest but eventually he just gave up and let me do it. Kaleb ended up with a completely shaved head since I had to use the old trimmers with no guard.

This is why dad's not aloud to cut hair.

Books to Movies

Okay, i have to say this.

I been reading so many different books mainly to approve what Sara reads. A friend of mine told me to read The Time Traveler's Wife; i did and I loved it. so I convinced Matt to take me to see it last Sunday and i was so unimpressed and upset. The movie didn't do the book any justice.

If you haven't read the book read it you'll love it I guarantee.

The kids are back

the kids are back, the kids are back, the kids are back in school!!!!!!

Can't tell you how nice it is to have the house to my self agian..

Can you believe it Kaleb's in 2nd grade and Sara's in 7th. Man, I miss the younger years.

so I went to drop the kids off last Monday (8/31) to their first day of shcool and they didn't even want me to hang around.

Sara is so middle school and mom's just not cool enough any more. But if you ask her friends I'm still the coolest mom. What ever my pre-teen.

Kaleb, now i honestly thought since he's my moma's boy he'd want me to stick around for alittle. Nope! he told me not to park to just drop him off so he could go play with his friends.

As much as I'm glad their back in school it sucks that I'm the most important thing in their lives anymore.

Summer Fun!!!!

So while the kids were out of shcool we really didn't do a whole lot but rest and relax.

We went swimming a couple times, saw a couple movies, slept in till 10am - 12pm. it was totally fun.

Sara and I did alot of reading and kaleb just played outside.

fun summer huh!

Easter

After Sara's last competition in LA we drove up to Mike and Deb's and had Easter with them.

We had a lot of fun. From shopping with Deb, to the kids decorating Eggs with Matt, Jordon and Mike. Let's just say Deb likes to shop and spoil kids.

Mike made pancakes and a very Yummy breakfast for all of us.
Sara and Kaleb were a little too short to reach a couple eggs but they still got them all.
They may have to climb, crawl, jump or ask for someone to hold them up but it all worked out.

Deb even went into find them more baskets since theirs filled up pretty quickly and needed more room for their loot

I think we got them all! Nope Jordan had to break the news they hadn't even looked in the back
The kids had a great time and Mike and Deb are the best. .

Catching up to do!!!

As anyone can see I've been extremely busy the last 6 months and unable to spend anytime updating the blog. so here's a lot within a short time.

All Levels International Competition

This weekend was Sara's last competition for Cheer up in LA. We drove up to LA Friday night and stayed at the Westin Bonaventure, it was a cool hotel. Only we were rudely awaken at 215am when a bunch of drunk people got to the room next door to us. I ended up calling down to the front desk and they sent security up to the room to tell them to be quite. some of them listened but one guy didn't care. The kids finally went back to bed and the neighbors passed out.

We got up early Saturday got Sara in her uniform and everything put back away. Matt dropped me and the kids off at the Sheridan so that we could go eat and go to comp with another family while he headed up to his aunt and uncles to finish setting tile in the bathroom. After the kids and i ate with another team mate and her family we headed to the LA Convention Center.

While we were waiting out front for the coaches and rest of the team to arrive the kids had fun stunting and climbing trees. We even got Kaleb to partner stunt one of the sisters to Sara's team mate. I wish i had the picture to post because it's way cute.
So we were all a little nervous for the kids. We were up against 10 teams from all over. I even made the comment to the parents that I think they (team) would surprise them selves. Sure enough they did. They had the best performance i have ever seen them pull out. They were perfect.
We even received an email from the coach late Sunday letting us know that the team that took 1st place at the event in our division thought that we out preformed them and we had them beat. But unfortunately the team took 8th out of 11th. Which was no biggy since the coaches and us parents could not be any prouder of them.

A Little Relaxation

With Matt working so hard and Sara's non stop schedule we decided to take the weekend off and go to the desert. (Even though we were back in time on Sunday for Sara's practice)

I have to admit before the desert wasn't always the funnest thing to do, simply because I'd watch the kids and not really get to do much else. Every once in a while we'd go on a ride and I'd be driving the truck. It's fun but you can't beat up the vehicle you drive everyday out there. Now that we have a two seater buggy and the kids are older it's become more fun.

Kaleb rides from the moment we get there till the time we leave asking for dad to make jumps and little tracks. luckily we always park/camp in a spot with trails near by and areas to build up some jumps for the kid. What can I say he's a natural.

We even went on our first ever family ride. Matt was riding in front on the Honda with Sara driving Kaleb in the buggy and then me following them on the Yamaha. It was so much fun riding again.. Then Matt realized his chain was loose so we had to head back to camp. On the way back Sara thought she lost Matt and stopped in the middle of the road as I was coming up behind full speed around a turn to find her stopped. Luckily i stopped in time so that i didn't hit the buggy. She was told next time to pull off the road.

By the time Sara's 16 she'll be a pro driver. As long as she doesn't high center on anything and need Dad to get her out.

All in all it was a good trip, weather was perfect and the kids had a blast.

Little bit of everything

lets, see I got bored today while cleaning the house and decided to write something.

Sara believe it or not is now 12 years old. She's 1 of 2 sixth graders who have been asked and meet the scholastic requirements to play softball for Light & Life's Middle School Team. The team is mainly 7th and 8th graders but their principal asked her to play because he knows she'd bee good for the team. she'll pitch and play 2nd or short, depending on how much she pitches. Her All-Star team is working hard and she's now in all the stunt sequences. I'll make sure to get a video posted after our April International comp coming up. so everyone can see what she's been up to.

Kaleb, not much to say at the moment. He's doing well in school and has started tumbling at the YMCA, right now he can do a kart-wheel, round-off and is working on a back-handspring. He wants to be like Mykeal one of the boys on Sara's team that does all the "kool flips and holds the girls up". (his words) so we started tumbling to see if he'll like how much work it is. We're also looking into karate. He'd like to play football again but right now he doesn't make the weight for Jr Mitey-Mite which is the first year tackle. (since it would be the last year he could play and only year he'd be able to play tackle with no risk of head trauma)

Matt, is busy working like crazy. if he's not at work then he's at his friends house helping them improve and older warn down home they bought, and if not there he's currently working for Mike and Deb remodeling their main bathroom. Matt, is also playing roller hockey with a bunch of buddies. It's fun to watch!!!!

Then there's me, not doing much work since I've gone to being a stay at home mom. Man you'd think my house would be cleaner though! I spend my time reading books, I've gone thru 5 books already this month. I forgot how much i enjoyed reading. I'm still involved with Pop Warner here and am the current season secretary so i do all the paperwork end and make sure we have what we need. I'm also studying to get my Real Estate License and eventually I'll just get my brokerage license so i can do everything. I figure if I'm going to be a stay at home mom I can still enjoy working on my terms and Real Estate even though not so hot right now would allow me to do so. I've also started going back to the gym (4 days a week) this way i can keep my sanity by staying busy and like any other mother to lose the xtra weight since i getting married and having kids.

We'll that's pretty much all we've been up to lately. I know were planning a trip to the desert 1 last trip before it gets to hot.

Kaleb's 7

Wow..... where does the time go. Kaleb turned 7 this morning at 3:45am.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KALEB !!!

Every Kid wants to eat junk food and play with friends or have there birthday some where cool. Poor Kaleb is spending his birthday ill and sleeping on the coach.

At least he's finally getting a skateboard, so once he's better we can add to the scars, scraps and bruises he already has.

COA Nationals (3/14 - 3/15)

Cheerleading can be pretty brutal.... Sara's all star team competed in Irvine past weekend at COA Nationals which is a huge event held at the UC Irvine Bren Center. We all knew going into this weekend was going to be rough with so many of our team members being sick and a couple members being slightly injured prior to the event.

Sara sucked it up and so did the rest of the team, and even though Sara and so many other team members weren't in good health they did a wonderful job.

Carrissa, one of our injuried team mates (shoulder Injury) does a wonderful job holding Sara up with Joey's help. Two Man stunts with girls holding the girls in the air give us more points, then a boy holding the flyers.

The coaches even changed parts of the routine from Saturday's comp to Sunday's and they all did great. They even told the team after competing that no matter whats happens they are very proud of them all for competing when some were ready to pass out, some wanted to sleep, some throw-up and some were hurting do to injuries.

The coaches telling them they did a good job was nice to hear since they don't usually tell the kids that.

Unfortunately, the illness and injuries didn't play to our favor and they just weren't as clean as the other teams so we took 5th place out of 6. It's all good though, three weeks ago we placed 3rd out of 7 in Las Vegas; and we still have the Varsity All Levels International Competition Coming up in April.

Aspiring to be Great

Okay, you know it's every parents wish for there child to want to be great at something and have a someone they can look up to. Well it's even better when your soon to be 12 year old looks up to someone who's only a couple (meaning two) years older and is awesome in every respect.

Kiara Nowlin is a world wide known gymnist, power tumbler, cheerleader, and has excellent academics. She was nice enough to take this picture with Sara and two of her NC Elite team mates at the Jamz Long Beach Xtreme Competition on January 18th and then signed the posters Sabrina's mom had made for them the following weekend at the Cheer Jamz 2009 Competition the following weekend.

This little girl is a sweat heart, gets great grades, is an awesome athlete, modest and humble and has an wonderful personallity, I couldn't ask for a better role model for Sara.

Do You Believe This.....

Says it all doesn't it.

I've always thought bloggs were a good way to keep families and friends updated with whats going on just never thought I'd be doing it.

What can I say, now that I'm a stay at home mom and have some free time I've decided to start blogging so that all our family and friends can keep updated with whats going on in our little family.

And to my sister-in-law Katie thanks for the inspiration..
