All Levels International Competition

This weekend was Sara's last competition for Cheer up in LA. We drove up to LA Friday night and stayed at the Westin Bonaventure, it was a cool hotel. Only we were rudely awaken at 215am when a bunch of drunk people got to the room next door to us. I ended up calling down to the front desk and they sent security up to the room to tell them to be quite. some of them listened but one guy didn't care. The kids finally went back to bed and the neighbors passed out.

We got up early Saturday got Sara in her uniform and everything put back away. Matt dropped me and the kids off at the Sheridan so that we could go eat and go to comp with another family while he headed up to his aunt and uncles to finish setting tile in the bathroom. After the kids and i ate with another team mate and her family we headed to the LA Convention Center.

While we were waiting out front for the coaches and rest of the team to arrive the kids had fun stunting and climbing trees. We even got Kaleb to partner stunt one of the sisters to Sara's team mate. I wish i had the picture to post because it's way cute.
So we were all a little nervous for the kids. We were up against 10 teams from all over. I even made the comment to the parents that I think they (team) would surprise them selves. Sure enough they did. They had the best performance i have ever seen them pull out. They were perfect.
We even received an email from the coach late Sunday letting us know that the team that took 1st place at the event in our division thought that we out preformed them and we had them beat. But unfortunately the team took 8th out of 11th. Which was no biggy since the coaches and us parents could not be any prouder of them.

A Little Relaxation

With Matt working so hard and Sara's non stop schedule we decided to take the weekend off and go to the desert. (Even though we were back in time on Sunday for Sara's practice)

I have to admit before the desert wasn't always the funnest thing to do, simply because I'd watch the kids and not really get to do much else. Every once in a while we'd go on a ride and I'd be driving the truck. It's fun but you can't beat up the vehicle you drive everyday out there. Now that we have a two seater buggy and the kids are older it's become more fun.

Kaleb rides from the moment we get there till the time we leave asking for dad to make jumps and little tracks. luckily we always park/camp in a spot with trails near by and areas to build up some jumps for the kid. What can I say he's a natural.

We even went on our first ever family ride. Matt was riding in front on the Honda with Sara driving Kaleb in the buggy and then me following them on the Yamaha. It was so much fun riding again.. Then Matt realized his chain was loose so we had to head back to camp. On the way back Sara thought she lost Matt and stopped in the middle of the road as I was coming up behind full speed around a turn to find her stopped. Luckily i stopped in time so that i didn't hit the buggy. She was told next time to pull off the road.

By the time Sara's 16 she'll be a pro driver. As long as she doesn't high center on anything and need Dad to get her out.

All in all it was a good trip, weather was perfect and the kids had a blast.
